101 To 1000, Step By Step Builder
This lesson takes you from 101 to 1000 in clean steps. Lock the hundred block first, then add the tens part, then add the last digit. Readings of hundreds have a few sound shifts you must fix now. One hundred is ひゃく. Two hundred is にひゃく. Three hundred shifts to さんびゃく. Four hundred is よんひゃく. Five hundred is ごひゃく. Six hundred shifts to ろっぴゃく. Seven hundred is ななひゃく. Eight hundred shifts to はっぴゃく. Nine hundred is きゅうひゃく. The thousand line is せん. After you own these blocks, everything in between is just stacking parts with an even beat.

Step by step builder for 101 to 1000
Pick a hundred block, add a tens block, then add the last digit. Say the parts in one steady breath.
Tip: tap Tab then arrow keys inside the selects to roll fast through sets.
How the stack works
Build in three parts. Part A is the hundred block. Part B is the tens block. Part C is the last digit. Join A then B then C with no extra vowels or pauses. If B is zero skip it. If C is zero skip it. The Kanji stack follows the same idea but the characters do not show sound shifts. The reading keeps them. Examples: 百三 reads ひゃくさん. 三百四十六 reads さんびゃく よんじゅう ろく. 八百九十九 reads はっぴゃく きゅうじゅう きゅう. Keep the beat flat and you will sound clear at native speed.

Common fixes that clean your sound
- さんびゃく ろっぴゃく はっぴゃく must snap. Keep the small っ short. Do not say さんひゃく or ろくひゃく or はちひゃく.
- Use よん なな きゅう inside stacks. Avoid し しち く in these readings except in set phrases outside numbers.
- Kanji stays simple: 二百三十四 even when you say にひゃく さんじゅう よん. Characters do not mirror sound shifts.
- Speak all parts in one breath at a steady pace. Numbers fail when the rhythm breaks.
